Immediately after Spain won the 2010 Soccer World Cup, the cost of the Spain jersey immediately rose. Upon reaching the finals, the prices already increased because of the high demand. But when the finals round was over and Spain emerged top on the list, the country’s jersey not only increased in price, it was also difficult to get hold of one.

Every soccer fan wanted to buy soccer jersey of Spain as a memorabilia of the recently concluded World Cup Series. Spain came up with a special World Cup jersey and it seemed to be a lucky jersey for them. In a friendly match with Argentina, in 2009, the country’s World Cup jersey was pitted against the Argentina jersey to commemorate the Spanish Football Federation’s centenary. Spain was then deemed to win their first ever World Cup and they were hopeful that their jersey would bring them good luck. Well, it did!

Jerseys are uniforms. But the importance of a team’s jersey to its players and fans should never be understated. Jerseys give the team their pride. To the fans, owning their favorite team’s jersey is a way of showing their valuable support.

The soccer jerseys’ commercialism has been seen for decades. Ever since team owners started selling their team’s jerseys a couple of decades ago, patronage of the sport have increased. Fans get ecstatic whenever they lay their hands on their favorite team’s jersey, more if it is the jersey of their favorite player.

Soccer jerseys have been regarded by some as a marketing tool to promote a team. But to the please and especially the fans, a soccer jersey is a source of pride. It is every soccer fan’s desire to own a jersey of their favorite soccer team.
